Our summer camps in the Wilmington area are designed to help foster a love of the outdoors in your child, while also teaching them about our local and regional ecological neighborhood.
Our camps are very popular and sell out fast! If you miss getting your spot, please join the waitlist! We always have spots come available as we get closer to camp AND you get early registration for next year! Sign up for any week and we will put you on the call list for all of our weeks!
Activities include:
Fishing, crabbing, hiking, marsh exploration, kayaking, swimming, environmental education, beach time, tubing, ropes course/swamp adventures at Swamp Park in OIB Projected Weekly Schedule-Activities always subject to change due to availability or weather Monday- A morning of beginners to intermediate kayaking at Fort Fisher (or back up location if it's too windy). We'll get some beach time or a hike in for the afternoon. Tuesday- We travel to the Swamp Park in Ocean Isle Beach for a day of climbing around the trees on their ropes courses, with the talented course guides at the Swamp Park. Wednesday- Island Day! The kids will spend the day exploring, swimming, jumping off the boat, kayaking, and paddleboarding at an island in the intracoastal waterway. The boat will be taking the kids out tubing throughout the day, too! Thursday- We take the short drive over to the Surf City Fishing Pier, where the kids can get some good pier fishing experience. We have caught black drum, pompano, flounder, and many other types of fish on these days. Then we will head over to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital for a tour! Friday- We spend the morning in the marsh, in some of our favorite crabbing spots, using the magic of a fish head, some string, and a net to catch blue crabs. They have to be quick with that net! We finish our week of camp with either dock jumping on Banks Channel or some beach time. It definitely can be hot during the summer, so most days include some cool off time at the beach! |

What is different?
Similar to our Coastal Adventures Camp for ages 9-12 except for a couple of big differences for the big kids! At the Swamp Park, this group will get to particpate in the Zip Line Course instead of the ropes course. For fishing day, our group will fish offshore on a head boat instead of at the fishing pier!
